The Aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itselfTypical work activities

    Marketing executives contribute to and develop integrated marketing campaigns. Tasks     can involve:
  1. Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations communicating with target audiences and managing customer relationships.
  2. Sourcing advertising opportunities and placing adverts in the press - local, regional, national and specialist publications - or on the radio, depending on the     organisation and the campaign.
  3. Managing the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters, e-newsletters, DVDs and writing and proofreading copy.    
  4. Liaising with designers and printers.
  5. Organising photo shoots.
  6. Arranging the effective distribution of marketing materials.
  7. Maintaining and updating customer databases.
  8. Organising and attending events such as conferences, seminars, receptions and exhibitions.
  9. Sourcing and securing sponsorship.
  10. Conducting market research, for example using customer questionnaires and focus groups.
  11. Contributing to, and developing, marketing plans and strategies.
  12. Managing budgets.
  13. Evaluating marketing campaigns.
  14. Monitoring competitor activity.
  15. Supporting the marketing manager and other colleagues.
